Cinder Here's Cinder when she was a puppy in the fall of 1994.

Cinder During the winter of 1994/1995, I caught this very cute picture of Cinder relaxing in a bean bag chair. Apparently, she walked into the room where my brother was and just plopped down on it.

Abby Here is Abby, one of our other three dogs, on Christmas Day 1993. Even though she barks at any strange sound she hears, she's a very loveable dog. She's smart, too. She knows that "Gotta go potty?" means she's going outside, "yum yum" means food, and "sock" means one of her old socks that we've given her in her pile of dog toys.

Abby Here's an earlier picture of Abby during the fall of 1992.

Abby Not long after that, I got this cute picture of Abby on Christmas 1992. She didn't seem to mind the bow on her head too much. At the time, I think she was in one of her barking walks around the room.

Cinder In January 1996, Cinder was in misery. Here she is not long before her first litter of puppies. She wasn't wanting to move around too much, and she kept groaning every time she did move. What was really cool was getting to feel the puppies squirming in her stomach.

Puppy Here is one of Cinder's first pups in March 1996. In the whole litter, there were two yellow Labs and six black. My parents have some great pictures of them when they were really little. One is of them all lying side by side on a blanket together. Once I get access to a scanner again or can afford my own, I'll be getting them up.

Puppies Here are some more of Cinder's first litter of pups. My parents and brother had fixed up a pen in our garage to keep Cinder and the pups inside protected from the winter weather outside.

Puppy The pups always gathered at the gate of the pen, wanting to be let out, every time we went out to the garage. This one gave the cutest look as it peered over the gate at me.

Puppy Often, the pups would figure out how to climb over the sides and gate of the pen to get out. Needless to say, our garage was a mess since they tended to scatter anything and everything all over the floor. This one, when caught in the act, tried to pretend to be innocent while sitting in the middle of a mess.

Puppies When we were down to four pups left, we let them in a couple of times to play around in our TV room. We had to keep a close eye on them. Here, the puppies are ganging up on one of Abby's old socks.

Puppy One of the puppies examined the camera once it grew tired of the sock and playing with the other pups.

Abby Abby tends to sleep in a variety of positions, and this is one of her most common when she's lying against a wall or something. Here's she's snoozing on the kitchen floor in June 1998.

Pokey This is Pokey, my family's parakeet in June 1998. I was probably his favorite person since he would bite everybody in the house except me, and he was always the most active when I was around. He and Abby were actually jealous of each other. I would be talking to Pokey, and Abby would come up to me with her sock, wanting me to play with her. I'd play with Abby, and Pokey would start hanging upside down on the front of his cage and start jabbering away until I came back to him. Then the whole process would start all over. Sadly, Pokey passed away on Monday, May 8, 2000, just four days after Grandpa passed away.

Abby & Cinder Here's a picture that took me several attempts to get in October 1998. Finally, I had to put Abby and Cinder together in my bedroom to keep them together.

Pigs For nine years, I was in 4-H, and during my last five years, I took pigs to the county fair. While I was out of 4-H after 1992, my brother was still in and was also taking pigs when this picture was taken during the summer of 1995.
