This is all of the Alpha Phi Tau stuff I "stole" when I rushed Spring 1995. Nothing was really stolen since the active members expected the people rushing to sneak stuff out of their rooms, and everything was given back afterwards.
This is my birthday cake from my 21st birthday. My parents got me the same design on the cake for my 22nd and 23rd birthdays as well.
One morning during the spring of 1997 when I was living in my first apartment in Bowling Green, I woke up, looked outside my living room window, and saw this shopping cart in my front yard. I have no idea how it got there. The store name on the handle was several blocks away.
This was a hilarious dorm prank that had been pulled off in December 1995 during finals week when I was at Heidelberg. Basically, a couple guys had taken all the trash they could and duct taped it all across their neighbors' door. When the door was opened, only a small hole near the top of the doorway allowed light through.
During the summer of 1993, my dad got run off the road and through an electric pole in his pickup. Basically, he'd just washed the truck and took it out to air dry. Heading for home, another truck ran a stop sign in front of him. He swerved into the ditch, taking out the poles and power lines. The other vehicle left the scene. He was caught the following afternoon when the sheriff's office traced the vehicle based on the description of the vehicle and that it had a temporary license plate. It turned out to be the son of somebody we knew. He'd been driving without insurance and fled the scene in a panic.
Here's my 1997 Pontiac Grand Am the day after I got it in September 1998. It still looks good and is still fun to drive.
Here's my former car: a 1986 Pontiac 6000LE. This was taken the day we traded it in. It might of been an older car, but it still wasn't too bad of a car to have.
A thunderstorm approaches my parents' house during the summer of 1998. This is one of the advantages of living out in rural Ohio. You can get some great views of storms as they approach. So far, I've seen three tornadoes, and I've got pictures of the third which came down only about two and a half miles away in late May 2000. As soon as I get access to a scanner, I'll be putting those pictures up.
Here's one of the better pictures of our Christmas trees at my parents' house. Unfortunately, my family seems to be getting less and less enthusiastic about the holidays.
Here's one of my favorite holiday pictures. This was taken in my Ashland apartment on December 26, 1998. I'd initially wanted to put the tree in my front living room window, but it would have blocked a furnace vent. That's when I noticed that there was room in the corner next to the fireplace. I taped a couple hooks on the mantle for hanging the stockings. The Christmas tin and basket I've had for a couple years or so. The poinsettias I got at Landoll's Christmas party. It was the second year I used the tree in the picture, and underneath, I set up a length of Hot Wheels Railroad track with a short train on it. The mantle was then filled with Christmas cards that I received that year. The whole scene, to me, just seemed very cozy. Too bad the fireplace didn't work.
